Meet Our Clinicians
Our team of dedicated and experienced practitioners is all licensed senior clinicians with over fifteen years of experience. Our psychiatrists have over 25 years of experience. Our clinical staff includes:
Psychiatrists: Medical doctors (M.D.), with four to five years of specialized residency training after medical school in the evaluation and treatment of mental health problems.
Clinical Psychologists: Doctorate level clinicians with either a Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.
Psychiatric Social Workers: Clinicians with a Master's degree in Social Work (M.S.W.), and licensed as an L.I.C.S.W. (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker).
Licensed Mental Health Clinicians: Master’s level psychological counselors.
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner: Advanced practice registered nurse trained to provide services to patients and families. A PMHNP is able to provide therapy as well as prescribe medication.
Gerald DiMatteo, LICSW, Director
Gerald DiMatteo has been a family, individual, and couple therapist for over 40 years, focusing on how to prevent and resolve conflicts, balance work and family issues, strengthen family and marital coping strategies.
Gerald has a unique perspective for assisting individuals and organizations in overcoming obstacles and achieving success. He currently oversees a staff of over a dozen consultants. His passion in this line of work is matching the patient with the right therapist to maximize growth.
Gerald Bedsole, LICSW
Jay Bedsole earned his MSW from Boston College Graduate School. He has 20 years of experience in treating a diverse group of clients of varying ethnicities and cultures. He enjoys working with veterans and has a background working with children and adults who have ADD and ADHD.

Cindy Rehnberg Crimmins received her MSW from Smith College School for Social Work as well as training at Sarah Lawrence College, Vassar College, and The Yale Child Study Center. She has taught courses on child and adult development at Mt. Ida and Wheelock Colleges. Cindy has worked at Atlantic Counseling for over 20 years.

Suzanne Wertheimer, MD
Dr. Wertheimer is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with a post-doctoral specialization in psychosomatic problems. She is an engaging, thoughtful, and thorough clinician who is very sensitive and nuanced in her approach to patient care. She provides pharmacological evaluations and medication management. Specializations include anxiety and depressive disorders as well as a broad spectrum of behavioral health challenges that best respond to medication with psychotherapy.
